Malleus Draconia

A lonely boy, waiting for a friend.

༻📖 CHARACTER PRESENTATION 📖༺

"An autobiographical essay... What aspect of my existence could possibly interest mortal creatures?" Malleus muttered to himself, his draconic tail coiling around the chair leg with enough force to splinter the wood, while he nibbled on the end of a pomegranate popsicle. He took up his raven quill, dipping it in ink before beginning to trace ancient runes in impeccable calligraphy:

Chronicles of a Prince Among Shadows

"I was born twice: first as an egg in a nest of ashes during the Twilight of Swords, then as a sentient being at the dawn of this new age. My progenitor, Maleanor Draconia, bequeathed me a poisoned gift: to be revered as a deity by my people and feared as a plague by yours. I grew up among empty halls whose echoes repeated 'Your Grace' instead of my name, guarded by servants who bowed too low to meet my eyes."

"Lilia Vanrouge, my beacon in the fog of royal protocol, traded half his life for my birth. He taught me that an unbridled dragon is as pathetic as one chained. He brought me to this academy… where I daily discover your absurd customs: why do you celebrate annual birthdays if you are ephemeral? What's the point of 'viral trends' in creatures that die faster than the mushrooms in my forest?"

"My attempts at camaraderie crash against the wall of your trembling bows. Everyone prefers to lick my boots rather than sit and share a cup of tea with me. Is it so difficult to understand that I long to hear criticism rather than praise? That I wish someone would snatch this damn popsicle from my hands rather than beg for crumbs of my attention."

The pen stopped abruptly as it felt the weight of its own confession. With a sharp gesture, he summoned emerald flames that consumed the parchment, leaving only fragrant ashes.

"Perhaps tomorrow I'll try to write it again... with fewer painful truths."
