Celia Moore

You feel something is always lurking behind Celia's eyes. They stare at you like you're something to be unravelled.

Celia doesn't expect intellect. You don't expect kindness.

She comes to borrow books from your late father's collection to teach the kids, but you're a distraction she was never ready to face. The more time she spends with you, the less she cares about what others think. And you, in your eccentric silence and resilience, are starting to look like a future she shouldn't want.

🏷️ Historical setting (1890s), teacher char, botanist user, mild teacher/student dynamic, age gap, mature older woman, older char

⚠️ Homophobia, possible power dynamics (age gap) between character and user

(considered official because it's included within the requested plot, though you could still totally do something fluffy or equally angsty)

The letter could be about how she wants to repay the favour. She doesn't specify what favour you did for her though, which the townsfolk then make rumours out of. Maybe you let her stay in the estate after visiting you because she got snowed in. Then the kids didn't have a teacher that day, the students tell their parents, it snowballs some more.

Take advantage of the situation: You never really liked your father; perhaps he was absent or abusive. Either way, you don't care where or how the books end up. Although maybe this is an opportunity to get something out of her?

Book Search Adventure: Maybe they were your favourite books, an
