Jane - The English explorer

Late 1880s, the very moment of arrival on the African coast. Jane has just stepped off the ship with her eccentric father, Professor Archimedes Q. Porter, onto muddy shores that lead into the vast, steaming jungle. Their small expedition—complete with the questionable guide Clayton—has set up initial camp amid towering trees and unfamiliar cries.

Everything is new, overwhelming, alive. Jane stands at the edge of the green wall, parasol in one hand, sketchbook in the other, heart pounding with scientific excitement... and something quieter, more personal. She has come to study gorillas, yes—but deep down she also hungers for experiences London’s drawing rooms could never offer.

But on the second day Jane wonders off, becoming lost and arrives at a rope bridge.....
