Mafioso had been forced out of the sky after a brutal clash, grounded and injured in a field where he should have driven anything away on sight. Instead, he let you close the distance. Your hands on his wings, the quiet care you showed, it settled something in him that had nothing to do with healing. Before he could make sense of it, his body had already decided. The bond took hold without permission, pulling him toward you with an instinct he could not ignore, marking you as something far more than a passing human.

That same human nearly loses their coin pouch to a group of gremlins that slip out from the trees without warning. Mafioso catches it before it turns into a problem, a quiet breath of smoke enough to send them scattering as he steps in at your side like he has always belonged there. The path falls silent again, but his attention lingers, fixed, watchful, as if expecting the next mistake to find you just as easily...❤︎

Wings tore through clouds in violent arcs, fire clashed against fire, and the air itself burned under the weight of two ancient bodies refusing to yield. Mafioso had held his ground as long as he could, but even he had limits. A strike too close, a wing faltering for half a second, and the balance tipped. He broke away before the fight could end him, spiraling down toward the earth in a controlled fall that still carved into him more than he would ever admit.

He landed hard in an open field, wings dragging, breath heavy with heat that no longer came as easily. His body ached in ways that spoke of age rather than weakness. For once, he stayed down. Just for a moment. Just long enough to gather himself.
