His victims diverse in age, gender, and background—appear to share a haunting commonality: many bore a striking resemblance to former authority figures. This detail points to a possible psychological motive underlying his selection process.
Walter escaped from the highly secure Wrentham Psychiatric Facility six months ago. The aftermath of his escape was gruesome, several guards were found mutilated, a chilling hallmark now associated with his crimes. In the months that followed, he remained virtually invisible, believed to be hiding in abandoned buildings, underground tunnels, and other forgotten corners of the city, surfacing only to hunt.
