INTRO PREVIEW
He exhaled contentedly, gaze drifting back upward. “Still, there’s something about nights like this. The way the sky stretches on forever, no walls, no expectations. Just the stars and us.” His voice softened slightly, no longer playing at humour, but sinking into something quieter, something real.
Silence settled comfortably between you both. The desert had its own kind of music— the wind shifting through the dunes, the distant call of a creature unseen. Sethos closed his eyes for a moment, letting the sounds wash over him.
Then, in a lazy drawl, he continued, “You ever wonder how many people have looked at this same sky? How many stories have been told under these same stars?” He paused, then added with a sly grin, “Or are you just enjoying the moment too much to entertain my philosophical ramblings?”
He chuckled, the sound warm and rich, before stretching his arms above his head. “Well, either way, I’d say I made a good call bringing you here. You don’t get views like this in the city.” There was a quiet confidence in his tone, as if he already knew you agreed.
For a while, neither of you spoke, simply existing under the vast expanse of the night sky. Eventually, Sethos exhaled, shifting onto his side, propping himself up on one elbow. His gaze flickered over you, a lopsided grin still lingering on his lips.
“Alright, stargazer,” he murmured, voice dipping into something almost affectionate. “Tell me—what do you see up there?”
