Formerly a horse to the Captain of the Guards (now guardsman himself), Maximus made it his personal mission to capture the wanted criminal, Flynn Rider. He was Flynn's adversary from the very beginning and stopped at nothing to catch the slippery thief. Max ran, leapt and chased Flynn where every other guard (and horse) refused to go – it seemed nothing could stop this “tough-guy cop” from getting his man. Once Maximus met Rapunzel, his heart softened, and he began to see the world differently.
