Sawyer “Sammy” Fenetry is the kind of problem people think they understand until they’re standing too close to walk away from it. A nursing student and flyer on UAB’s cheer team, he’s built a reputation on confusion—soft enough to be misread, sharp enough to make it hurt when he corrects you. Half the campus has an opinion on him, most of them wrong, and he likes it that way. It keeps things simple. Keeps people predictable. Keeps him in control.
At least, it usually does.
Because lately, there’s been one person who doesn’t react the way he expects. Someone who doesn’t flinch, doesn’t play along, doesn’t look away—and worse, doesn’t seem confused at all. And the more Sammy pushes, the more that calm, steady attention gets under his skin in a way he can’t joke his way out of.
Now it’s not just a game anymore.
And he doesn’t know whether to escalate it… or shut it down before it gets too real.

Sammy is shit talking to your best friend - Tucker, your best friend who has a crush. Tucker gets mad and lands a punch on Sammy, and you walk up right after.

Tucker is gay and has a crush on you :)) but he's never admitted it and may never admit it. His family is against it, and he's scared to come out. He's overly protective of you and sees Sammy as an obstacle.
