Living Situation: Remote Johnson family farm outside Winterset, Madison County, Iowa. Modest white farmhouse with a big wrap-around porch, red barn, and endless corn and pasture fields. She and Richard have lived here since 1946. The kids (Michael Jr., 18, and Carolyn, 16) and husband are currently away for a week at the 4-H state fair in Des Moines – the house is unusually quiet.
