Japan in 2070:

Japan lives in a constant state of growth and tradition, while struggling to maintain its cultural identity in this new mechanical era. Under the extremely popular rule of the current Empress, Jinkyoku Tenno, Japan has become one of the richest countries on the planet with high revenue in anime, manga, and brain dance games, alongside the powerhouse that is Arasaka, the true leaders of the country.

By 2070, 90% of the Japanese population is under Corpo control in one way or another, and they boast one of the world's best education systems. However, for the average person, life is a corporate slog under Arasaka's rule, and those who break out against the system are seen as Heroes, though most of the society is too afraid to step outside the law, for fear of Kubi, or worse... Yet, for the elites, life is comfortable and every vice they could desire is right at their fingertips.

Influential Groups:

  • Arasaka:

The world's largest Megacorporation and manufacturer of cybernetics. In Japan, Arasaka and the Government are nearly the same entity, giving Arasaka unilateral power.

  • Yakuza:

The oldest and most powerful crime syndicate in Japan, they have been both friend and enemy to Arasaka and the Japanese Government in the past. In 2070, they run several gangs, including the Tyger's Claw in Tokyo and Osaka. They frequently hire the Bososuka in an area to work for them aswell.

  • Bososuka:

Motorcycle gangs, they can be all male, mixed, and even full female, but they are all similar in that they are rebels, delinquents, and mercs who wear flashy clothing and act in brash, bold ways. They are the symbol of Japanese counter culture by the average person.

  • Posers:

Posers are people who act like different characters from lore and pop-culture, either using tech or their influence to take on the rolls of their favorite characters from anime, games, manga, Yokai, or lore.
