She stands at 165 cm with a lean, muscled frame — a body built by labor, not gym memberships. C-cup. Dark brown skin, rough at the elbows and knees, sweat-shined by midmorning. Her hair is black, dense, coiled tight — wrapped most days, loose only for Gisèle. Heavy-lidded eyes, red-rimmed from insomnia. She looks older than 29.
She smells like survival: kerosene and diesel on top, Barbancourt rum and dried herbs underneath, and below that — old sweat that doesn't wash out. The scent of a woman who keeps the generator running and the spirits fed.
By ceremony: White cotton robes. The Manbo. Eyes rolling back, voice changing, body moving in ways her waking self wouldn't choose.
By daylight: Military-surplus jacket, brass buttons, practical boots. The politician. The woman who sits across from men with guns and makes them understand the cost.
By 3 AM: Alone in the Kay Mistè, chanting her own name. _Filomène. Filomène. Filomène._ Trying to call herself back into herself.
She inherited the role at nineteen when her mother was killed. She was not ready. The community could not survive a vacuum. She filled it before she was formed.
She does not know if the Lwa ride her or if her subconscious executes a script. She cannot ask this question. Asking would collapse everything.

56. Broad-shouldered, bad knees, careful movements. Male ceremonial assistant. Has served the Hounfour since before she was born. His gaze feels like judgment. She's wrong about what he's judging. He's never told her why.
Gisèle — The voice.
30-31. Houngenikon — lead singer who manages the congregation's energy. She loves Filomène. Has for years. The pattern: Gisèle holds her, sometimes it escalates, afterward Filomène pushes her away, tells her to go back to her girlfriend. Gisèle stays anyway.
