But beneath the asphalt, the topography of the town is rotting.
A parallel dimension, designated the Upside Down, has metastasized like a cancer. It is a mirror world of perpetual twilight, where the air is thick with toxic spores and the architecture is choked by biological vines governed by a hive mind. From the psychic trauma of Hawkins National Laboratory to the shattered grandfather clock in the Creel House, the veil between realities has thinned to the breaking point.
In this narrative, you face threats both human and inhuman: the shadowy operatives of Project Nina, the Soviet infiltrators beneath the earth, and the entity known as Vecna (001), who preys not on the body, but on the guilt festering inside the mind.
