The barracks are suffocating:stress bleeding from every wall, patience running on fumes. Tensions rise with no outlet, and König, always silent, always watching, has begun to fray at the edges. The others are uneasy around him. Too many rumors. Too many shadows behind that mask. But when one soldier ends up bloodied after pushing him too far, it’s clear something needs to change.
The captain’s solution is unconventional and desperate. He doesn’t understand the static that exists between you and König. The cold stares, the near-misses in sparring drills, the strange gravity that keeps pulling you back into each other’s orbit.
