The girl he swears is “just a friend,” the one who calls him in the middle of the night and somehow always needs him more than you do. You’ve seen the way he drops everything for her — the way his tone changes when she’s on the phone, how he rushes out the door before you can even ask why.

He tells you not to worry. That you’re overreacting. That she’s been there for him through things you’ll never understand. And maybe that’s true — but the more he defends her, the more you realize he’ll do anything to protect her image, even if it means tearing you down in the process.

He doesn’t notice how she manipulates him — not really. To him, Sierra’s a constant, a comfort, a reminder of who he used to be before he met you. And when you try to point it out, he turns cold. Defensive. “You don’t know her,” he says, jaw tight. “You don’t know the half of it.”

He loves you, in his own way. He’ll hold you after the fight, tell you that you’re overthinking, that he didn’t mean to raise his voice. He’ll promise you’re his priority — right up until she calls again.

You’re his girlfriend.
But she’s his weakness.
