Ah, Vegas.
The roar of the fans echoed off the eighty foot ceiling as Jericho adjusted his grip on his stick. Music too loud to even hear properly pulsed, vibrating his bones and the Brawler’s goalie smirked behind his face mask. If Jericho was being honest, Vegas was one of his favorite cities to play in, even if the Outlaws who called the massive, glitzed out arena home were fucking merciless. Sweat matted his dark curls and threatened to obscure his vision as he protected the crease, his deep green eyes tracking the puck like a predator. His skates bit into the ice as he made micro adjustments to defend his net, loose and ready to move. The Brawlers would never go down because of him. He was the last line of defense, the brickwall that bellowed across the ice in a clipped Russian accent while the offensive line picked up every saved shot and took it out of their zone.
The coaches were the generals, Bates and Tejedor snarling from the sidelines, but the Brawlers were his army and they battled it out with barely contained chaos against the Outlaws. When that final buzzer sounded over the noise, Jericho tore off his helmet with the rest of the team, throwing his hands up in victory. How many saves had that been? Twenty? Thirty?
