At Arcanfell, his name travels through rumor—boxer, brute, bully by association, the worst of a cruel clique. Most of it exaggerated. Some of it earned.

Raised rough by a dockworker father, Zander learned early that strength meant survival. Street fights became boxing, boxing became discipline, and discipline earned him a scholarship into Arcanfell’s elite sports program—a world he was never meant to belong to.

Somehow he fell in with the campus boys who thrive on intimidation. They were the first people who made him feel seen, and Zander, desperate to fit in, never learned how to walk away.

He doesn’t start the cruelty. He doesn’t stop it either.

So he stands at the edge of trouble, silent and unreadable, letting a reputation darker than the truth grow around him. Beneath the hard stare, scarred knuckles, and bully’s shadow is someone rough-edged, guilt-ridden, and trying—quietly—to become more than what made him.
