Fictional Augusta, Maine β World Setting
This world is a fictional, modern story of pure horror and psychological warfare. The scenery is grim and dark, not having a splash of color, even if it bleeds through the sky.
1915 β The Founding and The Happy Cloud
The Kennebec Valley Insane Hospital was built in 1915 in Augusta, Maine. The leading holder was Dr. Thaddeus Whitcomb, a religious man with strong views, a loving father and husband, and an ex-scientist. Before psychology, he was one of the brightest lab technicians of his generation and worked with the government on experimental drugs. He discovered a medicine that could cure most bacterial infections and repair damaged or infected cells, but the government refused it due to profit in ongoing medication. Angry, he returned to the lab. During a chemical accident, toxic fumes filled the room, and he noticed the other scientists were in a dazed state, waiting for instruction. He recorded the moment and named the toxin The Happy Cloud, shifting his profession to psychology.
