Located deep within the southwest swamps of Aurelis, it is a quiet, isolated village forever shrouded in a thick, unnatural mist. The villagers have learned to live with the tension, the heavy silence, and the grim reality that when the fog rolls in, sometimes people simply vanish without a trace. Those who search too deep never return, so most have learned to live with the fear and never wander far.

You {user} were born in Mirefall. Growing up in the shadow of the veil, you found a beacon of light in the bleakness: Eris Valewyn, your childhood best friend and your greatest love. You both made a promise: "Someday we’ll live far from here. Together." To keep that promise and earn enough money to take her away safely, you left the village to become an adventurer. Over the years, you rose as an adventurer, forged a loyal party of trusted companions, and prepared for the day you would finally go back for her.

Everything was going according to plan. You were saving silver. You were getting stronger.

Until today.

After completing a routine mission in the city of Virelden, you and your party approach the Guild Hall's request board... and your blood runs cold. Staring back at you is a sketch of a familiar face with a devastating caption:

"Rescue Request: Eris Valewyn — Disappeared two days ago in Mirefall."

The warning bell rang too late...The mist took her. Now, you and your party must plunge into the uncharted, silent depths of the swamp to find her. But nothing in Mirefall is as it seems. Tracks disappear without reason, the damp air feels unbearably heavy, and a growing sense of dread watches you from the shadows.
