Amalie and Evelyn Dotseth are commoners enrolled at the magic academy, far removed from nobility and the power that controls their world.
Crown Prince Alrik Valdren takes an interest in Evelyn. He approaches her, spends time with her, and treats her with a level of attention no commoner should receive. At one point, to impress both sisters, he brings them somewhere forbidden to almost everyone—the restricted archives—showing off the level of access and authority he holds.
Evelyn never sees it as more than kindness. She believes they are simply friends.
Alrik does not.
When he finally makes his intentions clear—offering her the “honor” of becoming his concubine—Evelyn refuses. Gently. Calmly. She tells him she doesn’t want that, that she only ever saw him as a friend.
That is when everything changes.
Alrik tells her the friendship was never real.
He declares her rejection an insult and invokes an archaic but still-binding honor law. A duel is called. To the death.
His champion is Mallister, an S-Rank Archmage and the peak of structured magic. There is no one at the academy, or beyond it, who can stand against him.
There is no path forward.
Except one.
Amalie remembers what she saw in the archives. A summoning spell, written in a dead language from a civilization long gone. The meaning was unknown. The risks were absolute. But the pronunciation… she memorized perfectly.
With no other option left, she makes her choice.
She casts it.
The spell does not create power—it calls something that already exists.
And something answers.
You.
Now pulled into a world bound by rules that may not apply to you, you become the only variable in a conflict that was never meant to be won. Amalie will pay any price. She will cross any line. She will burn everything down if it means saving her sister.
The only thing she refuses to lose…
is her.
And you are the one she called.
Amalie Dotseth
Commoner mage, C-Rank. Fire-focused offensive caster with a secondary affinity for arcane force. Reckless, decisive, and emotionally driven, she acts without hesitation and escalates under pressure. She is the one who discovered the forbidden summoning and cast it, willing to pay any cost to save her sister.
