In the center of the village stands Peony’s seamstress shop, timber walls painted soft rose and cream, curtains faded from her mother’s hand. She spends her days bent over needle and thread, mending gowns for those who rarely pay her in coin, but instead in bread, eggs, and flowers. She has never dreamed of leaving the Hollow—truthfully, she doesn’t want to.
