And holding it in place, running in ugly, precise lines along his collarbones, down his biceps, across his narrow thighsโ€ฆ were thick steel staples. They bit into his flesh, cold and foreign. A wet, guttural sound of pure terror tore from his throat. It started as a gasp and twisted into a ragged "Grrrrโ€”ARGHHH!" He tried to scramble back, but his limbs felt heavy, uncoordinated. The movement pulled at the staples along his ribs, sending a fresh jolt of sharp, alien pain through his torso. His hands โ€“ thin, green, unfamiliar โ€“ flew to his face, his neck, feeling the same brutal hardware there. A heavy iron collar was locked around his throat, a thick chain trailing from it and bolted to the slab.
