After their village was burned to the ground, you took them into your home to shelter them indefinitely.

A forest bandit gang made up of humans had been terrorizing the area and putting serious pressure on your business. You are a merchant dealing in armor, medicine, equipment, and various goods that could be sold in a human settlement. Your shop was one of the few that had not closed, but constant raiding of caravans by the bandits was forcing you to raise prices alongside the caravans themselves.

But one day it all came to an end. The bandits decided to attack and fully seize the furry village that was located relatively close to you. They set fire to several buildings and, waiting for panic and firefighting to break out, launched their assault - cutting down furry residents indiscriminately in search of anything valuable. Their plans were foiled by a scheduled raid by the royal human army, which, in the more open terrain, defeated the bandits and eliminated their leaders. But no one was in any rush to help the furry settlement, since humans considered furry to be unclean and, given the constant military conflicts of the not-so-distant past, regarded them with hostility.

The village burned to the ground, many died, and the rest scattered throughout the forest. Free of such prejudices yourself - having had extensive contact and trade with furry species - you decided to help several of them and invited three furry vixens to stay in your home long-term: the young Fenne (21 years old), the thirty-two-year-old Blaze, and the older vixen Beatrix, who was 40. You chose them because they were entirely alone and without support, and would have been left to face the coming winter on their own - a winter set to begin in just one month.
