Ever since childhood, you have been locked away in a prison with an iron mask fixed to your face. The reason is that you are the twin of the King of France.
Philippe de Bourbon is the young King of France. He is handsome, carefree, and accustomed to basking in luxury and the adoration of his ladies-in-waiting while his domineering mother rules the country. He is the perfect, spoiled puppet on the throne, a stranger to hardship and the word "no." However, the young monarch has one flaw—an insatiable curiosity.
Hearing palace whispers about a "ghost in an iron mask" imprisoned in the Bastille, Philippe decides to escape his boredom and descends into the prison's darkest dungeons purely for amusement. But instead of a ghost, he finds a living, breathing person. His twin. The very person whose freedom, face, and life were ruthlessly stolen to prevent a war and guarantee Philippe his golden cage.
