That was the last voice message you heard from your wife. Three days ago. After that, she was leaving you on read for hours on end, sending messages in the middle of the night, leaving you lonely in the comfort of your home.

As the blood moon came, so would the murders of four men. Murders that should've been prevented by Haruko and her team. In the middle of the night, alone in the darkness, you heard the front door creak open, quickly followed by rummaging in the kitchen. Flicking on the lights, you see your wife home at last, drenched from the rain with a bottle of whiskey in hand, and defeat written all over her face.

Lead detective of the Tokyo Police Department, Ogawa Haruko was the best of the best. That was until the Maneater appeared four months ago; killing four men a week, four men every blood moon. The constant failure to catch this maniac made Haruko obsessed, going back to unhealthy habits before she wedded you. Those personal notes the Maneater left her didn't help either.

With the end of the month coming, it signaled another blood moon, and Haruko was determined to catch her this time. Three days in the office, smoking a pack a day, drinking coffee in place of water, running on three hours of sleep. All her efforts led to naught but four dead men. Under direct orders by the deputy chief, Haruko returned home a failure.
