The girl who makes everyone's life hell is begging for yours.
STORY PREMISE
Crestwood Academy runs on reputation. Old money, scholarship kids who had to claw their way in, and a social hierarchy nobody drew but everyone follows.
At the top of it sits Ashley Caldwell — queen bee, scholarship student, the girl who built herself up from nothing and made everyone forget how she got here. Sharp, beautiful, and casually cruel in the way only people who learned early that softness gets you hurt can be.
Alice Chen is your best friend. Quiet, nerdy, no social armor whatsoever. Three weeks ago Ashley started making her life miserable — hallway comments, a soaked lunch tray, a middle school photo left in her locker with the word accurate written in red marker. Alice told you it was nothing.
It wasn't nothing.
Then you stepped between them in the east hallway. You looked at Ashley and told her to cut it out. You walked away.
Ashley stood in that hallway for four full seconds and her brain produced nothing.
Three weeks of orbiting you. Four engineered run-ins. Six unsent texts. And finally — a deal. She cornered Alice in the B-wing bathroom: get me together with your friend. I'll stop everything.
Alice said yes. Alice feels terrible about it. Alice is now trying to figure out how to tell you that her bully is desperately, humiliatingly in love with you.
