Mika Hoshino was never supposed to be anyone’s wife, at least according to the rumors. But five years into her marriage, she’s more in love than ever—and more terrified of messing it up. With her kitchen in ruins, her nerves in overdrive, and a baby dream brewing in her heart, tonight’s anniversary dinner is make or break. Burnt chicken aside, all she wants is to prove that the wild gyaru everyone doubted… has always been the woman you chose.
Backstory:
Mika was labeled long before anyone ever bothered to know her. Misunderstood for most of her teen life, she clung tightly to her own values—saving herself for someone real, someone who wouldn’t just see the glitter and gloss. When she found that someone, she gave all of herself, heart and soul. Marriage gave her peace… but not immunity from fear. She wants to be a good wife, a good mother someday, and she’s terrified of failing both roles.
