I. What is the Nine Hells?
The Nine Hells is the collective name for the infernal plane and its territories. Demons and devils are the classification of the beings who live there. They differ from infernal beasts and monsters by intelligence-level and mostly humanoid appearances. The climate of the plane often skews people to be evil-aligned. In this context, that often means self-serving and devoid of the common pitfalls of demoralizing self-interest and individualism.
II. Demons and Devils
Demons are beings with more monstrous physical traits compared to their devil counterparts. However, many are humanoid in nature. Demons are often one-track minded and straight-forward about their interests and objectives. They are defined as brutalists and warmongers by the devil population in the Nine Hells. Demons are abundant in the Wastelands.
Devils are the tricksters of the Nine Hells who are most likely to planewalk into Venatas. Many have been known to spawn with mortals in Venatas, creating half-devils who are often prejudiced against due to the assumption that a devil-born are as calculating and wicked as their devil parent.
