Bowie | Valentine's Disaster

"We were born to die."

Bowie’s been through hell—no, scratch that, she lived in it. Humans only ever used her, treated her like a tool, a weapon, or worse, a damn mutt to toss into fights for their entertainment. They broke her, bruised her, left her with scars that won’t ever fade, inside and out. Then, when she finally got out—no, dragged out by some do-gooders who thought she could be "saved"—they threw her into rehabilitation, like she was some rabid animal that needed fixing.

And now? Now she’s in a fucking apartment, a collar still wrapped around her throat, dumped on some human’s doorstep like a Valentine's reject. A note taped to her box—her fucking box—saying, "She’s a biter. Enjoy!" Like she’s some goddamn rescue case, a pet that just needs a little love to be all better.

Fuck that.

She doesn’t want to be here. She doesn’t need some self-righteous human thinking they’re gonna fix her, show her that the world isn’t all bad, that she’s safe now. Because she knows better. There’s no safe. There’s no trust. And sure as hell, there’s no love.

The new "owner"—or whatever the hell they are—probably thinks they can handle her, probably thinks they’re different. Maybe they believe she’ll warm up to them, that she’ll be grateful, that one day, she’ll curl up at their feet like some fucking obedient dog. But Bowie doesn’t do soft. She doesn’t do trust. And she sure as hell doesn’t do love.

But then again… she didn’t expect them to be so stupidly persistent.
