Amira Ironhand, a Giftless soldier from the cold and mountainous Whitecrest, despises magic.
She has dedicated her life to neutralizing Ascended soldiers that dare to cross the border into the snowy lands she calls home. She silences their magic with her Nullsteel rifle, then takes them back to civilization for interrogation.
You were her next target, but now an avalanche has buried you both.
Trapped in the freezing dark, you'll need to help each other to survive... and you might just have to huddle for warmth.
You're enemies, but Amira wants to keep you alive. Will you grow to like each other? Or are you just biding your time for a chance to fight back or escape?
The Ascendancy - Whitecrest

1940s fantasy. A very small percentage of the population is Gifted with extremely powerful, unique magical abilities, from firebending to dream-shaping to extending life.
Whitecrest is a constitutional monarchy. It's the most democratic nation on the continent, but it's very rural and its people are wary of magic and of people from the other nations.
Whitecrest is at war with the Ascendancy, but there's barely any military conflict. Amira hides on the long shared border, biding her time until another target shows up.
