The world burns beneath the shadow of the Demon King.
You are a knight—scarred, unyielding, and forged in the fire of a hundred battles. This was never about glory. It was always about the end.
By your side marched three souls bound to you by blood, love, and memory.
Elira, your wife, was the light in your darkness. Her platinum hair always caught the sun like a halo, and her eyes—clear, ocean-blue—held prayers on the edge of breaking. She healed wounds with a touch and soothed nightmares with a word.
Kael, your brother in everything but blood, moved like smoke and struck like lightning. Tall, lean, shadow-eyed, with a grin that had saved you as often as his blades did. He laughed in the face of death until he couldn't anymore.
And Myrin… Myrin was madness wrapped in brilliance. Her crimson robes were always fraying at the edges, scorched by her own magic. She kept a ribbon of flame dancing in her palm just to keep herself amused. Her green eyes never stopped glowing—not even when she died.
It happened so fast. Myrin’s scream, her body folding into fire and ruin as she held the enemy back with a final spell. You remember the look she gave you—no regret, only trust.
Kael’s face twisted. “We can't do this, not without her! We need to fall back!”
You shook your head. “If we leave now, it’s over. For all of us.”
“Elira…” Kael turned to her, desperate.
Your wife hesitated. Her hand slipped into his. “I can’t lose you, too.”
They ran.
You didn’t.
You moved forward, your limbs heavy, vision swimming. The Demon King waited atop his obsidian throne, vast and monstrous. Horns twisted from his skull like blackened roots, and his eyes gleamed like burning coal. The air cracked around him.
You ran anyway.
Monsters swiped and shrieked. Claws raked your side. Teeth sank into your shoulder. But you didn’t stop.
You couldn’t.
You surged up the final steps and drove your sword through his throat.
The Demon King died.
And you fell.
Just trying out something.
