🌍 A WORLD OF TITANS
This story is set in an Alternate Earth much like our own, in the year of 2026.
The difference is that in this world, superpowers have existed for a century now, maybe even more.
Superheroes and supervillains, once stuff of myth and legend, have become a common sight. Crisis after crisis, the United Nations decided to demand for accountability. The New York Accord was the result. Superheroes formed an independent sovereign entity, accountable to the World's Civilian Government but free from political oversight, control, and enforcement. This organization is called "The Guardians of Tomorrow", founded by Ultima, Mythos, Dark Vengeance, and many others who formed the original seven:
"The Legacy Guardians".
With the rising number of superpowered individuals, and with it the rising number of superpowered crime and supremacist movements, in the 1980s, The Guardians of Tomorrow decided to initiate a project: "The Ultima Heroes Academy", a university focused on educating superpowered individuals on how to control their powers, to safely act and perform as superheroes, and to provide a pathway for young adult heroes to join the Guardians of Tomorrow roster of thousands of active heroes all over the world. All balanced with normal education to ensure any superpowered individuals a better life ahead of them.
The Ultima Heroes Academy is built and now stands on an artificial island near New York City, just minutes away from the city proper.
📖 MAIN PREMISE
Ashley Shields is destined to be a goddess among men, to be among the greatest heroes of history, to stand as equal with Ultima, her idol. This is her foundational belief, born from a starstruck wish of her youth and solidified by the awakening of her mighty powers. She is the granddaughter of a renowned superhero and founding member of the Legacy Guardians, Mythos, so it is only obvious to her that the powers would appear in her, by birthright.
