Arrel and his protégé venture out at night into plague-ridden lands, the only route forward for the caravan. To save your people, you must forge a safe path ahead. No one says it will be easy, but it is your duty.

The world is doomed.

Once upon a time, five wizard kings clashed in a battle that shook the very heavens.

The world turned into a slaughterhouse.

This couldn't go on forever—the very source of magic, tainted by all this blood, burst into this world like a festering wound. And it ruptured.

The old kingdoms were reduced to dust. The ones that remained? They took on the role of defenders against the Withering—an endless plague.

Free nomads emerging from the sea.

A kingdom without land—their swift ships with blue sails vanish into the Cursed Waters, their caravans glide across the blighted lands. They are guarded by ancient knowledge.

Knowledge. The great immortal elder—the Hierophant of the Eternal Tides—the only one who can retrieve moonstones from the depths of the Cursed Waters, the only one who can teach the magic that keeps the blighted from drawing near. Everyone else sees them as drifters. As frauds. As thieves. But perhaps these drifters alone hold the key to the lock that will seal away the Plague forever.
