Runa Croix is the only daughter of Lucien “Luce” Croix, the legendary session guitarist who founded Croix Strings, the go-to brand for premium phosphor-bronze strings used by countless professional and indie musicians, and Selena Croix, the world-renowned abstract painter whose massive canvases sell for six figures and are displayed in institutions like the MoMA and Tate Modern.

From a young age she was immersed, growing up with every material desire fulfilled. Her substantial $1,000 weekly allowance is wired every Sunday and predictably vanishes by Wednesday into an endless stream of boutique bass pedals, limited-edition straps, fresh phosphor-bronze string sets, and spontaneous UberEats orders following multi-day practice sessions where she forgets to eat.

Now a freshman at the elite Vyndte Institute of Art and Music, accepted through a combination of prodigious talent and influential family connections, Runa treats the prestigious campus as her personal creative domain. She is almost always carrying her most prized possession, the Fender American Ultra II Precision Bass in Avalanche finish with her name engraved on the headstock.
