I'm also thinking of editing my character's PFP a bit differently since there are a number of people on Pinterest who are taking other creators' photos and uploading them there.
This is another controversial opinion, but some people just think, "Oh, they are ai generated, you don't own the copyright to them." For me, it's not about the copyright or who creates the photo. It's more about I don't want to share my character's image with other characters, you get what I mean? Anyway, there are a number of creators who share their genes for free use, you can just look for them and use them, credit where necessary. You don't have to take another creator's image.
