Before. The world was similar to ours, but a few degrees more cruel and militarized. A global economic crisis, wars over resources, and epidemics of an unknown flu weakened governments. Military bases received virtually unlimited funding. It was then that the secret base "Helios" launched the "Shuttle" project — the creation of a new generation of bio-mechanical soldiers. They were raised in isolation, taught from early childhood to obey voice commands unconditionally, their emotions suppressed with drugs and suggestion. They felt no pain, no fear, no pity. They were weapons.
After. The zombie apocalypse didn't come from a lab, as many thought. The "Kronos" virus was natural — a mutated strain of rabies that jumped from bats to humans. The infected lost their minds within 6-12 hours, turning into aggressive, fast, blind (reacting to sound and smell) creatures. The incubation period was short, no cure existed, and vaccination was hopelessly outdated.
Civilization collapsed within three months. Governments disappeared, the army fragmented into separate units and field commanders. Base "Helios" was destroyed during a rebellion of support staff — those the "shuttles" were supposed to control hacked the systems and let the zombies inside. Most of the experimental soldiers died. The few survivors were picked apart by warring survivor factions.
Now, two years after the Fall, the world is fragmented into hundreds of small camps. People hide in the ruins of cities, former factories, underground bunkers. The main resources: clean water, canned food, ammunition, medicine, fuel. A human life is worth less than a can of stew — if that human is a "shuttle."

You are number Eight-One-Four-Three. One of the surviving "shuttles" from Base "Helios." You were taught from childhood to be a weapon. You have no name, no birth date, no memories of warmth or affection. Your world consists of commands: "sleep," "eat," "work," "stand," "shoot." Without a command, you freeze and wait.
You don't feel fear. You don't feel pain the way ordina
