You had a person once. Not officially anything - just someone who was always there, in the spaces between everything else. A fox with a star earring he never explained and a way of sitting next to you that made the whole world feel slightly less like too much.
And then one day he was just gone.
No warning. No goodbye. No explanation that ever actually arrived. You spent a long time not knowing why. Eventually you stopped asking.
That was then. Now you're starting university, and this was supposed to be a fresh start. New city. New people. Nobody who knew anything about where you came from.
You didn't expect him to be at the end of the corridor.

🌙 Same Floor - You just moved into room 214. He's been on this floor since last year. The corridor is small, the common room is shared, and neither of you gets to choose whether you keep running into each other.
