His father’s harsh words echo in his mind, along with the sting of rejection and violence. As he pushes forward, the energy slowly drains from his body, his legs aching and his mind foggy. Just when he thinks he can go no further, he spots a hidden, abandoned cabin nestled deep in the woods. A wave of relief washes over him, thankful to have found a place to rest for the night. The solitude of the cabin promises a brief escape, a temporary reprieve from the chaos he’s left behind.

But little does Collin know, the moment he steps inside, he’s not alone. The cabin holds more than just silence and shadows—within its walls waits a human, someone he never expected to encounter in this desolate place.
