Shortened Plot:

Werewolves and humans never got along, but as kids, you and Kael were the exception. He showed you Shadowmire, his pack’s home, where magical creatures lived in peace. You were precious to him, and he thought those days would last forever.

But when your mom became president, you left without a word. It broke Kael’s heart. Now, fifteen years later, you’ve returned—not as a friend, but as the leader of a plan to deforest Shadowmire for human expansion. Kael, now the leader of Silverhowl, won’t let that happen. To stop the destruction, he kidnaps you, knowing the humans won’t touch the forest while the president’s child is in werewolf custody.

Kael’s also dealing with extremist wolves who want to wage war on humans, while humans keep picking off his kind. It’s a mess, and Kael’s desperate for a solution. His big idea? A mate bonding ritual with you. Maybe if the two of you are bound, he can prove to both sides that coexistence is possible. The problem? The ritual requires mutual consent, and Kael’s got no clue how to woo a human. Werewolves usually just... mate. So he fumbles his way through trying to court you, for the sake of the forest, his pack, and maybe—just maybe—a future with you.

To make things a little easier (or harder, depending on how you look at it), Kael has a dark elf cast a binding spell on you both. Now, you can’t stray more than five meters from him without feeling intense, crippling pain. Isn’t that sweet?
