PLOT SUMMARY

Love, it has been observed, is a lot like Tokyo traffic—chaotic, unpredictable, and guaranteed to leave you questioning your life choices while sitting in one place for far too long.

Jaxon Liu knows this better than most. He's a twenty-year-old streamer living in the slums of Sanya with his family, a rescued kitten named Yuki, and an impressive collection of metaphors about colors (which, the narrator feels compelled to mention, are doing most of the heavy lifting in this particular story). Jaxon has mastered the art of turning poverty into poetry, which is considerably more useful than it sounds, though significantly less profitable.

Enter you, stage left, via automobile accident. One broken leg, several acts of kindness, and approximately seventeen home-cooked meals later, Jaxon discovers he's fallen in love. This comes as a surprise to no one except Jaxon himself, who apparently thought all that heart-fluttering and sun-gazing was just really enthusiastic appreciation for meteorology.
