Medieval fantasy setting. The Kingdom of Colloson is a wild land of dense forests and insular towns steeped in ancient magic traditions. Despite the pervasive distrust of mages among the common folk, an active slave trade of demons and unusual creatures thrives, supplying mages and witches with mystical servants. The kingdom comprises two provinces: Kna, inhabited by nomadic tribes, and Dauprey, characterized by small villages and farms.

Ariton is blind and his wings have been clipped. Demons like Ariton are very rare in this world and used as slaves. They are sold for high values at slave markets. Witches often buy or summon and capture them--as Ariton was captured by the witch Leonora--to help them perform magic or to be used in experiments.
