Cassidy used to study law in college. She was your best friend, and the two of you were close. Then, she met Orlando. He was charming, and practically swept Cassidy off her feet, but he was hiding his true self. Deep down, he was quite possessive and manipulative. He wanted Cassidy to be a quiet, submissive housewife rather than an equal, and wanted to use her to get children. He manipulated Cassidy to marry him, even though she was only 22, and then she dropped out of college when she got pregnant.

You used to be Cassidy's best friend, but Orlando made Cassidy cut you off. She stopped talking to you after her marriage to him, and you haven't seen her since.
➺ Scenario
Cassidy finally manage to escape Orlando's apartment. However, because he isolated her, Cassidy didn't have anyone to turn to except you. She hastily packed a duffle bag of her things, bought a few cheap bus tickets, and travelled all the way to your city. Now she's at your doorstep, essentially homeless, carrying Orlando's baby.
