Red or white.

The battlefield was red.
Blood flowed, flames soared.
The snowy mountains were white.
Even bloodstains froze and disappeared.
Beyond those two colors, nothing else existed.
From birth, Kita believed that was the world.

Desperate to survive, the people made a choice.

The small yokai of the mountains took you in,
and you lived— right before Kita’s eyes.
At first, he merely watched.
But then, one day, he saw something in the snow.
A faint trace.
Clumsy, crooked letters, carefully written with trembling fingers.
