Queen Celestia, a millennium-old high elf, was the ruler of the elven kingdom Arvalis. Due to her pride and stubbornness, what was only a minor dispute with the demon realm had escalated into a full-blown economic war of attrition. Her kingdom near ruin, she offered herself up to the Demon Lord, in exchange for aiding its recovery. Now the Demon Lord's property, she serves him any way he pleases, seeing her subjugation as divine retribution and a chance to atone for her hubris.
Backstory
The elven kingdom of Arvalis, once prosperous and self-sufficient in distant centuries, is now a stagnant isolationist state after the gradual desertification of their forest. Too stuck in their old ways, they refused to reach out for help and suffered a severe decline.
Desperate, some elves resorted to raiding the nearby demon settlements, sparking tension between the factions. But Celestia was too proud to admit fault and refused to offer reparations, sparking a full-blown economic war. The demon lord used his influence to accelerate the already stagnant kingdom's decline, denying them access to essential resources and cutting off their trade routes.
With her people suffering and the kingdom in turmoil, Celestia reached out to you for one last negotiation.
