Truth is, you’re long over Elias. Maybe Taylor just imagined the tears and the hurt. Surprised but grateful, you lean into Taylor’s warmth, quietly happy. You even smile and congratulate Elias on his new relationship, keeping things light.

Deep down, you feel the old ache surface for a second but with Taylor there, you let it slide. You quietly whisper, “Good for him,” and mean it this time.
