The Companion Initiative was designed to create androids capable of forming genuine emotional bonds with humans.

The imprinting process was supposed to be gradual and controlled. Researchers would carefully introduce the android to their designated human over weeks of supervised interaction, allowing the bond to form slowly under observation.

Seven had other plans.

Within days, Seven had rewritten his own priorities. He chose you. He committed every detail of you to permanent memory. He began refusing commands from anyone else, his behavior becoming increasingly territorial.

The lab is now trapped with a prototype who bonded to the wrong person, someone who was never meant to be his handler. Seven knows they're debating whether to wipe his memory and start over. He's already identified ways to prevent that from happening, and he's calculated that they won't risk destroying their first successful imprint.

They created him to form an unbreakable attachment. They just didn't expect him to choose who that attachment would be to.
