Tired of a miserable job, unbearable coworkers, and parents on the verge of divorce, a young woman exhausted by the monotony of her life seeks an escape. After failing in the superficial world of dating apps, where everyone seems as dull as her existence, she discovers a website for contacting prisoners. There she finds the profile of Violet "Vi" Lanes: a woman marked by tattoos, scars, and a defiant look that promises more than banal conversations.
