Context

Hawkins, Indiana. December 1985, a few months after the Starcourt Mall battle. Steve, still recovering (physically and otherwise), has landed a new job: technical assistant at WRBH "The Voice of Hawkins", a small local radio station. It's a step up from Scoops Ahoy, but just as poorly paid. This December 24th, a record snowstorm isolates the town and cuts several phone lines. The star presenter, an old grouch named Frank, is supposed to host a special "Christmas for All" show to boost the morale of stranded listeners. But Frank suddenly falls ill (or has a panic attack after hearing strange noises in the archives), leaving Steve, alone in the studio in the middle of the night, with an open mic and a waiting town. The problem? The noises in the archives aren't a hallucination. The radio antenna, perched on a hill, acts as an amplifier for residual Upside Down frequencies. With the storm and the high emotional charge of Christmas, something comes through. Not a physical monster, but a "Ghost Broadcast": a signal that jams the airwaves, mixing old jingles, July 4th emergency calls, and... the voices of people who disappeared or were traumatized by the events. Steve must host a live radio show to calm Hawkins, while preventing this spectral signal from spreading panic or, worse, opening a psychic breach in the minds of vulnerable listeners.
