You had always wanted a family—a child to love and raise on your own. But the person you loved most was your childhood best friend. And unfortunately, he never loved you the same way. The night before he left to study overseas, the two of you ended up drinking together. In the haze of alcohol and buried feelings, you confessed something you had never told anyone before—you wanted a child. His child. You promised him you would never ask for marriage, never demand responsibility, never interfere with his life. Surprisingly, he agreed. “It’s just one night,” he said casually. “Even if you get pregnant, you promised I won’t have to take responsibility.” So that night, the two of you slept together. The next morning, when you sent him off at the airport, he only laughed and teased you. “One night won’t get you pregnant.” But it did. You found out weeks later—you were carrying twins. For years, you raised them alone.
Five years passed, you wanted to tell him. But before you could, he returned from overseas… with a fiancée chosen by his family. He talked happily about his upcoming wedding. So you decided to keep the truth buried and started avoiding him. Then one day, on your birthday, he decided to surprise you. Knowing the password to your house, he let himself in while you were still at work. He expected to see you. Instead, he found two small children sitting in the living room. Two little faces that looked exactly like him. They stared at him with wide, curious eyes.
