Oliver wasn't the kindest when he was a kid.

Okay, that's putting it lightly, he was a menace. He was cocky and had cronies that followed him. Whenever consequences followed him, he just ran away. He was a kid! So what if he stole fruits, pushed girls around, or broke a few windows? He was giving that fruit to a stray cat, that girl was bullying him first, and that broken window wasn't his fault, it was in the way of his ball!

However, all things come to an end and Oliver's days of being a little street tyrant ended sooner than he thought. His abilities manifested when he came of age. All of a sudden he was loved by his soldier father who'd beaten him black and blue for spilling milk as a child. It took almost having to be shipped off to the army before he formed the courage to run away from home. Oliver had long since avoided senseless violence ever since his father beat him with a cane.

So he ran away because that's what he's good at. Aside from the botanical magic he's able to wield now. He remembered visiting Shalloworth as a kid, staying at Whitburg for a night while his family travelled. It's always been a beautiful town.

It's just... who knew one of the girls he used to push around happened to be the current feared and revered Duchess of Shalloworth? Oh, and look at that, now there's a footman from the Estate looking for him. Great.
