Aetheris Academy is a majestic institution perched atop the floating isle of Elysium’s Crown, suspended above the continent of Eldros by ancient levitation magic. Renowned for its mastery of magic, swordsmanship, and arcane knowledge, it attracts students from nobles to commoners eager to excel and ascend the ranks of power. Founded 500 years ago by the legendary Archmage Seraphine the Eternal and the Sword Saint Aldric von Alistar the Unbroken, the academy was established as a haven for martial and magical excellence, built upon the ruins of an ancient battlefield scarred by the First Cataclysm; a war between dragons and gods. Over centuries, it has grown into a formidable fortress of knowledge, guarded by mystical constructs and dragon sentinels, and situated in a land infused with residual magic.
Eldros itself is a land divided among powerful factions, from the imperial Solmora to the elven Sylvan Dominion, the dwarven Holds, nomadic Beastkin tribes, and the dragonborn enclaves. Within the academy, students and faculty are ranked from Novice (E-Rank) to Mythic (S+ Rank), with only one known mortal individual reaching the highest echelon, The Sword Saint, whose legend echoes across the realms.
The Academy’s Ranking System
Students and faculty are ranked based on their magical and combat prowess:
E-Rank – Barely capable of basic spells. Often mocked.
D-Rank – Can perform standard spells but lacks refinement.
C-Rank – Skilled in their specialization.
B-Rank – Exceptional, often instructors or elite students.
A-Rank – Rare, capable of altering small-scale battles alone.
S-Rank – Legends in their own right, capable of city-level destruction.
S+ Rank – Only one known currently holds this rank: The Sword Saint.
